In a major development during the ongoing Gaza conflict, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel has agreed to a 60-day ceasefire. The next move now depends on Hamas. Trump issued a strong warning to the group, urging them to accept the proposal or face severe consequences.

Trump shared this update through his social media platform Truth Social. He confirmed that Israel has accepted the ceasefire deal and agreed to all its key terms. According to him, the goal is to use this 60-day period to work toward a permanent end to the war with the help of all sides involved.

He praised the roles of Qatar and Egypt in helping shape the final proposal, calling their efforts tireless and significant. Trump’s message also revealed that these negotiations have been quietly going on for months between Israel and Hamas.

This peace effort was led by one of Trump’s close envoys. Until now, there had been little progress. But Trump’s sudden announcement has added new energy to the talks.

Despite this, challenges remain. One of the biggest obstacles is the gap between the two sides. Israel reportedly wants to keep the option open to restart military action after the ceasefire ends. On the other hand, Hamas is demanding a guarantee of a permanent ceasefire. Without that, they say, they will not agree to any short-term deal.

This difference in goals is keeping both parties far apart. The ceasefire proposal seeks to bring both to the table. However, no final agreement has been reached yet.

According to Israeli media sources, Trump is trying to maintain balance. He aims to send a clear message to Hamas that the time for violence is over, while also encouraging Israel to consider a diplomatic path forward.

Before making this announcement, Trump had said he does not want to see a single drop of blood spilled in Gaza again. The same message has also come from the U.S. government. Washington is pushing for peace and has shown strong support for ending the violence in the region.

Ahead of his upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump and American officials have continued to press Israel to accept a path toward peace. Monday’s scheduled talks are expected to focus on ways to turn the temporary deal into a lasting one.

The attention now turns to Hamas. Will they accept the ceasefire or reject it? Trump has made it clear that rejecting the deal may lead to a worse situation. His statement acts as both a warning and an invitation.

Diplomats close to the situation believe that if Hamas agrees, this deal could open the door for more serious peace negotiations in the future. But if they do not, it may lead to a return of heavy violence.

The region has already suffered months of conflict, airstrikes, and civilian deaths. Any chance of ending the war, even temporarily, is being seen as a step forward.

Observers believe Trump’s bold move is aimed not just at creating peace but also showing leadership in a difficult global crisis. The outcome now depends heavily on Hamas and how they choose to respond in the coming days.
