At least 19 people were killed and dozens more injured in a series of Israeli army strikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday morning. These attacks hit civilian homes, shelters, and tents, worsening the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.

Local reports confirmed that six people died when an Israeli airstrike targeted a house in western Gaza City. Another 20 individuals were injured during the same attack. Witnesses said the airstrike occurred without warning, damaging nearby buildings and causing panic among residents.

In northern Gaza City, five more people lost their lives in an Israeli drone strike. The attack hit a school that had been turned into a shelter for displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The wounded and the deceased were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital, one of the few remaining medical facilities still operating in the area.

In central Gaza, near the Netzarim Corridor, three civilians were shot and killed by Israeli forces. Several others were wounded in the same incident. Emergency teams from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) responded quickly but struggled due to blocked roads and limited medical supplies.

Meanwhile, in the southern part of Gaza, five more civilians died after an Israeli strike hit a tent camp in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. The area had been designated a safe zone for displaced families, but even there, the violence continues. The PRCS reported that multiple people were hurt in the strike, some critically.

Since October 2023, Israel has carried out continuous military operations across Gaza. The offensive has led to the deaths of more than 56,000 Palestinians, according to local sources. A large number of the victims are women and children. Homes, schools, hospitals, and refugee shelters have been frequent targets.

Despite international pressure for a ceasefire, Israeli forces have continued the campaign. Many world leaders and human rights organizations have condemned the violence and called for a halt to military actions that harm civilians.

In a significant legal development last year, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Both leaders face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the actions in Gaza. The court stated that there is enough evidence to pursue legal action.

In addition, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). This case was brought forward over the alleged targeting of civilians and the large-scale destruction in the Gaza Strip. The ICJ is expected to continue hearings throughout this year.

Meanwhile, humanitarian agencies are struggling to deliver aid. The continued airstrikes and ground operations have made it almost impossible to reach those in need. Food, water, and medicine are in short supply, and most hospitals are operating far beyond their capacity.

Medical workers and rescue teams are working under extreme conditions. Power outages, equipment shortages, and the constant threat of attacks have made their efforts even more difficult. Despite these challenges, they continue to provide life-saving assistance to thousands of injured and displaced people.

Children in Gaza have been especially affected. Many have lost parents, siblings, or homes. Schools remain closed or have been turned into shelters or hospitals. Psychological trauma is rising as the conflict stretches on without resolution.

Calls for a ceasefire have come from the United Nations, European Union, and other international bodies. However, so far, diplomatic efforts have failed to produce a lasting solution.

As the violence continues, families in Gaza face growing fear and uncertainty. Every day, they live under the threat of sudden attacks. With few safe places left, even shelters and aid centers have become targets.

The people of Gaza are calling for protection and peace. Many hope for international action to stop the attacks and hold those responsible accountable. Until then, the suffering in Gaza continues to grow.
