Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vows to continue Gaza War in Gaza will not stop. He wants full control of Gaza. Until then, the attacks will continue.
Israel says it is fighting to defeat Hamas. It also says it wants to free hostages held in Gaza. But the result has been heavy bombing and many deaths. Gaza is now a very hard place to live.
Every day, the bombs keep falling. There are also attacks from the ground. Aid trucks are blocked. People are short of food, water, and medicine. There is no safe place left in Gaza.
In the past week, Israel’s attacks have become worse. Many countries, like Britain, France, and Canada, are now speaking against Israel. Even the U.S., Israel’s biggest friend, is unhappy. Talks between the two nations are getting tense.
Still, Netanyahu says he will not change his plan. He wants to defeat Hamas. He wants to take full control of Gaza. He also says he is not open to any long-term peace deal.
This was reported by Anadolu on May 22.
Netanyahu spoke to the press in Jerusalem on Wednesday. He said about 20 Israeli hostages are still alive. He thinks 38 others may have died. He said Israel might stop the war for a short time to rescue the hostages. But he called this a “pause,” not a true ceasefire.
Hamas has said it will free the hostages if Israel stops the war. They want Israel to leave Gaza. They also want Palestinian prisoners to be freed. But Netanyahu said no to all these demands.
He says Hamas must be removed. He wants Hamas to give up all its weapons. He wants full control of Gaza by Israeli forces.
Reports say that Israel now holds over 10,100 Palestinian prisoners. Rights groups say many are mistreated. They face hunger, beatings, and poor health care.
Netanyahu’s actions have upset many in Israel too. Families of hostages are angry. They say he is using the war to stay in power. They say he wants to please his far-right allies.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid said Netanyahu is not telling the truth. He said the Prime Minister is not working with the U.S. as he claims. Lapid says Netanyahu wants to control Gaza for years.
Yair Golan, another leader, was also upset. He called Netanyahu a liar. He said the Prime Minister is not facing the truth. Golan plans to take him to court. He also says he will beat him in the next election.
A group of hostage families also spoke out. They said, “We may lose our best chance ever.” The war has gone on for 19 months. There is no end in sight. There is no plan to rebuild Gaza either.
Since October 2023, Israel has attacked Gaza often. The airstrikes have killed over 53,700 people. Most of them are women and children.
Many are now calling for peace. But Netanyahu stands firm. He says the war will go on. He will not stop until Gaza is under full Israeli control.
For now, the people of Gaza are trapped. They have no food, no water, and no safety. And there is still no peace in sight.
