The race began with five red lights. Then the green light showed. Oscar Piastri had a strong start. George Russell and Max Verstappen were right behind him. At turn one, Russell made a bold move. He passed Verstappen by going around the outside. It was a skilled move that caught many by surprise.
Verstappen did not stay behind for long. Soon, he took the lead back from Piastri. The fight between these top drivers was exciting. Russell started well but had to slow down when Piastri blocked his inside line.

When the race restarted, Hamilton kept moving up. He passed more cars and reached fifth place. Norris kept fighting hard. He then passed his teammate Piastri for second place in an exciting battle where their wheels were close.
The last laps were very tense. On lap 46, Antonelli’s car stopped on track. This caused a full safety car. Verstappen and Norris used this time for their last pit stops. The safety car helped Verstappen keep his lead easily.
When the race went back to full speed, Verstappen stayed in front. He showed no signs of pressure from Piastri or Norris. Piastri tried to hold second place, but Norris was determined. Norris passed Piastri cleanly and became the lead McLaren on the track.
Alex Albon fought hard and got into fifth place. Hamilton also gained more spots and finished fourth. Team orders came into play as Shailair gave a position back to Albon.
The race ended with Max Verstappen crossing the finish line first. He celebrated his 400th race with a win. This was his fourth straight win at Emilia-Romagna. Lando Norris finished second, with Oscar Piastri third. This was a strong result for McLaren, placing two cars on the podium again.
