An Arkansas electric company is set to build a new distribution center in Boonville to strengthen utility supply and support across the region.
COR Development announced it is partnering with Industrial Warehouse & Distribution Group and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. Utility Solutions (AECI) for the project. The facility will span 50,000 square feet on an eight-acre site in Boonville.
The center is designed to provide efficient access to utility supplies while improving support for electrical cooperatives and public power providers. AECI supplies infrastructure materials and equipment to electric utilities across five states.
“Their expansion into this market will support the state’s growing energy needs by providing local access to critical infrastructure materials and equipment, improving supply-chain reliability and enhancing emergency response across the region,” said COR Development Managing Member Nick Orscheln.
Coil Construction has been named the primary contractor for the project. “Our partnership with COR Development will ensure AECI’s new 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art warehouse comes together seamlessly,” said Coil Construction President David Coil.
The new Boonville distribution center is expected to improve logistics for electric cooperatives and enhance emergency response capabilities. By providing local access to critical materials, the facility aims to reduce delays and strengthen the regional power infrastructure.
This development reflects ongoing investment in utility infrastructure in Arkansas, ensuring that electric cooperatives and public power providers can meet growing energy demands efficiently and safely.
The facility will also serve as a hub for storage and distribution of equipment critical to maintaining reliable electricity services. By centralizing operations, AECI expects faster response times and improved support for regional utilities in routine and emergency situations.
With construction underway, the Boonville center is poised to become a key asset for Arkansas’s energy network, supporting both current and future infrastructure needs while enhancing service reliability for communities across the state.
