Viral TikTok creator and podcast host Bobbi Althoff has opened up about the flood of negative comments on her videos. She shared her feelings in a candid TikTok video, reminding viewers that she is human and that online hate can hurt.
Althoff said the negative comments often appear when she posts videos with her boyfriend. “Every time I post him, all of the comments are about how I’m ran through, or just mean, mean things,” she said, holding back tears. She added that even posts unrelated to her boyfriend attract a lot of hate.
The TikTok star suggested her large male following might contribute to the negative comments. She said she wishes the hate didn’t affect her, but it does. “I’m human, and if this many negative things were said about you every day, it would get to you too,” she explained. She also expressed hope that viewers who leave hateful comments might reconsider their behavior.
Althoff described herself as a people pleaser, and constant online meanness makes her frustrated. She admitted she has reduced how often she posts because of the negative feedback. She also worries that her children will one day be able to read these comments.
“I wish people weren’t so mean,” she said. “I’m grateful for my job and the life it has given me and my kids, but sometimes, especially when I’m alone, it’s hard not to let the hurtful comments get to me.”
Althoff addressed misconceptions about her dating life. She clarified she has moved on from her ex-husband, who is also in a happy relationship. She said people should allow her the same. “Why can’t I be in a happy relationship too?” she asked. She reflected on her past, noting that she became a mother at 21 and is thankful for the children she had.
Despite the hate, Althoff’s TikTok video has also received a lot of positive support. Many comments praised her honesty and encouraged her to ignore the negativity. One viewer said, “You shine, and people love to try to take that shine away. Thank you for posting this because it’s so real.” Another added, “It’s not your business what other people think of you. Let that help you grow and heal.”
Althoff is no stranger to viral videos. Another recent TikTok of hers detailed her Botox experience, which also went viral with over 1.7 million views. She explained how she received 100 units of Botox for jaw pain from a dentist, which left her face frozen and unable to smile for months. Viewers reacted with concern, warning others to choose trained injectors over non-specialists.
Bobbi Althoff continues to share her life openly on social media, showing both the positive and challenging sides of internet fame. She hopes her candidness encourages kindness online and helps others understand the human side of influencers.
