Kazakhstan and China are expanding their industrial and investment cooperation in Hangzhou. Senior Kazakh official Roman Sklyar met with Wang Hao, Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and executives from leading Chinese industrial firms.

The discussions focused on key areas of the Kazakhstan–China strategic partnership and explored opportunities to deepen industrial and investment collaboration. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between Kazakhstan and Zhejiang Province in mechanical engineering, automotive manufacturing, high-tech, and innovation sectors. Increased interregional engagement will also support these efforts.

During the talks, officials highlighted the steady growth of Kazakh-Chinese industrial cooperation and praised Chinese companies for their experience in large-scale industrial projects. They stressed that ongoing collaboration aligns with the long-term goals of the Kazakhstan–China strategic partnership, particularly in advancing breakthrough economic sectors through technological development.

Representatives of Chinese firms confirmed their readiness to implement the agreements. They plan to expand production, strengthen technological cooperation, increase localization, and introduce advanced engineering solutions in Kazakhstan. These steps aim to boost efficiency and innovation across multiple industries.

Roman Sklyar reaffirmed the Kazakh Government’s commitment to supporting joint initiatives. He promised prompt coordination, facilitation at all stages of projects, and the creation of favorable conditions for business and investment. The officials also agreed to continue practical collaboration on priority projects in metallurgy, mining and processing, and automotive manufacturing.

The discussions reflected a broader strategy to strengthen economic ties between Kazakhstan and China. Both sides emphasized that collaboration is not limited to short-term goals but targets long-term technological and industrial development. This approach includes sharing expertise, transferring advanced technologies, and fostering sustainable industrial growth.

Kazakhstan’s growing industrial partnership with China has been supported by several recent achievements. Among these is the successful launch of a jointly developed Kazakhstan-China nanosatellite into orbit, showcasing the potential of technological collaboration between the two countries.

Enhanced interregional engagement will also play a key role in future projects. By connecting industries in Kazakhstan with Zhejiang Province, both nations aim to accelerate knowledge transfer, increase joint investments, and support innovation-driven economic growth.

Industry experts noted that Chinese companies bring extensive experience in implementing complex projects, which can benefit Kazakhstan’s industrial modernization efforts. Cooperation in sectors like automotive manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and high-tech innovation is expected to boost productivity and open new markets for both nations.

The meetings in Hangzhou also highlighted the importance of long-term planning in bilateral cooperation. Officials stressed that Kazakhstan-China collaboration is designed to create sustainable value, improve industrial capabilities, and ensure that both countries benefit from shared technological advancements.

Looking ahead, Kazakhstan and China plan to continue regular engagement at multiple levels, ensuring that agreements are implemented effectively and that emerging opportunities are pursued. This includes joint ventures, technology transfer, and support for local industries to maximize economic benefits.

The Hangzhou meetings underline Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening ties with China. By focusing on industrial development, technological innovation, and strategic investment, both countries aim to create a robust partnership that supports sustainable growth and long-term economic prosperity.
