China has rejected a new United States investigation into its trade deal compliance, calling the probe “false accusations” and urging Washington to adjust its approach.

The Chinese embassy in Washington made the statement on Friday in response to an investigation announced earlier by the U.S. Trade Representative. Officials emphasized that Beijing strongly opposes the accusations and the measures tied to the inquiry.

A spokesperson for the embassy said China “firmly opposes the U.S.’s false accusations and related investigation measures” and encouraged the United States to “promptly correct its wrong practices.”

The investigation marks the latest point of tension in U.S.-China trade relations. Washington has periodically launched probes to assess whether China is meeting its trade commitments. These reviews often focus on issues such as tariffs, market access, intellectual property protections, and compliance with previously agreed-upon terms.

Beijing’s dismissal highlights its stance that U.S. trade actions are politically motivated and not based on factual violations. China has repeatedly stated that it is committed to honoring its international trade obligations, emphasizing that cooperation benefits both countries and global markets.

Analysts say the probe could increase trade tensions if it leads to punitive measures or formal findings of non-compliance. Such actions can affect global supply chains, investment flows, and market confidence.

The U.S. Trade Representative’s office has not yet responded publicly to China’s statement. Observers expect further diplomatic exchanges and possible negotiations as both sides seek to address ongoing trade disputes.

Trade relations between the world’s two largest economies remain closely watched. Policy decisions and investigations like this one can influence global markets, affect business strategies, and impact multinational corporations with operations in both countries.

Experts note that maintaining transparency and clear communication is critical to preventing misunderstandings. Swift resolution of disputes is also seen as essential for stabilizing economic ties and ensuring predictable trade conditions.

China’s firm response signals its commitment to defending its trade practices while challenging U.S. measures it perceives as unjustified. How the United States proceeds could shape the trajectory of U.S.-China economic engagement in the months ahead.
