Chinese actor Alan Yu Menglong has died at the age of 37 after falling from a building in Beijing. His management confirmed the news on Weibo on September 11, saying police had ruled out any criminal involvement.
“With unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on Sept 11. Police have ruled out any criminality. We hope he rests in peace and his loved ones remain strong,” the statement read.
The sudden news has stunned China’s entertainment industry and sparked an outpouring of grief among fans across Asia.
Social media platforms were flooded with tributes. One user wrote, “A huge part of me didn’t want to believe and wished hard that it would just be a rumor. May you rest in peace, Yu Menglong. Truly appreciated you as Bai Zhen in Eternal Love. Life is just so short; he was only 37.”

Alan Yu Menglong was best known for his roles in hit Chinese dramas such as The Legend of White Snake, Eternal Love, All Out of Love, and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. His breakout role in The Legend of White Snake earned him the Golden Bud Network Film and Television Award for Breakthrough Actor of the Year.
