Israeli airstrikes on Gaza killed 39 more people on Monday, continuing the deadly attacks. Since October 2023, over 52,000 Palestinians have died in the ongoing conflict. Health officials report growing injuries as rescue efforts struggle under rubble and chaos.

Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera and Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported the attacks on Tuesday (May 13). The Israeli airstrikes were part of Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, which have intensified since March 18.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said that 94 people were also injured in the past 24 hours. Many of the injured are in critical condition. The total number of wounded in Gaza has now reached 119,648 since October 2023.

In their official statement, the Health Ministry added that many people are still trapped under the rubble of bombed buildings. Rescue teams have not been able to reach them due to the heavy damage and continuous airstrikes.

Since the war began in October last year, at least 52,862 Palestinians have died, according to the latest figures. This includes thousands of women and children. Many of the strikes have hit residential buildings, markets, schools, and hospitals.

From March 18, a fresh wave of airstrikes began after a brief period of calm. The new attacks came after disagreements between Hamas and Israel over the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

The current offensive has already killed 2,749 people and injured over 7,600 more. These strikes have broken the ceasefire deal made in January 2025 under pressure from the United States and other global powers.

Earlier, in November last year, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. They were accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

In addition, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its military actions in the region. Despite growing international pressure, the attacks have not stopped.

Images from Gaza show people digging through rubble with bare hands, looking for loved ones. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and there are severe shortages of food, water, and medicine.

Several countries and human rights groups have strongly condemned the airstrikes. Protests have taken place in cities around the world, calling for an end to the violence and better protection for civilians in Gaza.

The people of Gaza have now lived through over 15 months of war. Although a ceasefire was agreed in January, it lasted only two months. Now, with bombing once again destroying homes and killing families, hopes for peace seem far away.

Local residents say they live in constant fear, unsure when the next bomb will fall. Many are fleeing to already crowded shelters, but even those places are not safe.

As the death toll climbs and the destruction spreads, international leaders are calling for immediate talks and a return to ceasefire. But so far, there are no signs that the fighting will stop soon.

The situation in Gaza remains dire. Thousands have lost their lives, and many more are in danger. World leaders are urging for peace, but as of now, Israeli airstrikes continue to cause death and suffering. The people of Gaza need urgent help—and a permanent end to the violence.
