Drew McIntyre, born Andrew McLean Galloway IV on June 6, 1985, in Ayr, Scotland, has become one of WWE’s most respected and popular superstars. Standing tall at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 265 pounds, McIntyre is known for his powerful wrestling style and intense in-ring performances. His journey in professional wrestling has been marked by highs and lows, making his story one of perseverance and ultimate success.

McIntyre first entered WWE in 2007, quickly catching the attention of then WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who dubbed him “The Chosen One.” Early in his career, McIntyre showed great promise as a rising star. However, after some initial success, his momentum slowed, and he was eventually released from WWE in 2014. During his initial WWE run, he was also part of the comedy stable known as 3MB alongside Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal, which did not highlight his true potential.

Following his departure, Drew McIntyre reinvented himself on the independent wrestling scene under his real name, Drew Galloway. He became a top star in several international promotions, including Impact Wrestling (formerly TNA), where he won the TNA World Championship. He also found success in other notable organizations such as Evolve Wrestling and Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) in Scotland. These experiences helped McIntyre develop a more serious and intense wrestling persona, which earned him praise from fans and critics alike.

McIntyre’s return to WWE came in 2017 when he joined the NXT brand. Here, he quickly regained his status as a main-event caliber wrestler by capturing the NXT Championship. His hard work and renewed passion earned him a spot back on the WWE main roster in 2018, where he continued to climb the ranks. Known as “The Scottish Warrior,” McIntyre became a powerful babyface figure and one of the company’s top stars.

One of Drew McIntyre’s career-defining moments came at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 when he defeated Brock Lesnar to win his first WWE Championship. This victory was especially notable because it took place during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, in an empty arena without the usual live crowd energy. McIntyre’s powerful win marked his arrival as a top-tier WWE superstar and inspired many fans worldwide.

Throughout his career, McIntyre has been involved in memorable feuds with some of WWE’s biggest names, including Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Gunther. His matches are known for their intensity and storytelling, with his signature Claymore Kick often serving as a match-ending move. Alongside his powerful moveset, McIntyre’s promos and leadership qualities have made him a locker-room leader and a respected voice among his peers.

In addition to his singles success, McIntyre has also held the WWE Intercontinental Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship, teaming with Cody Rhodes. His versatility and ability to perform at a high level in various match types have helped him maintain a prominent position on WWE programming.

Drew McIntyre’s impact extends beyond the ring. He is one of the few UK-born wrestlers to reach the pinnacle of WWE, representing Scotland on a global stage. His story of resilience—from being released and reinventing himself to returning stronger than ever—resonates deeply with fans. Outside wrestling, McIntyre holds a degree in criminology from Glasgow Caledonian University and is known for his dedication to fitness and wrestling history.

As of 2025, Drew McIntyre remains a key figure in WWE storylines. He continues to appear regularly on WWE television and pay-per-views, often involved in high-profile matches and feuds. Recently, he has also participated in celebrity tag matches, teaming with personalities like Logan Paul, showcasing his ability to adapt and stay relevant in the ever-changing world of sports entertainment.

Drew McIntyre’s journey in WWE demonstrates his talent, determination, and passion for professional wrestling. His rise to becoming a two-time WWE Champion and a beloved figure in the wrestling community reflects his hard work and dedication. Fans eagerly watch his career unfold as he continues to leave a lasting mark in WWE history.
