Apple’s iOS 26 update brings a new feature that helps users easily return missed calls. The redesigned Phone app now allows iPhone users to set quick reminders directly from the call history. This simple addition can be more useful than major features like auto-hold or call screening, especially for people who often miss calls when their phone is on silent.

The feature is part of iOS 26, which is currently available in beta. A full release is expected in the fall. Anyone using a compatible iPhone can try it early by installing the public beta version. The new reminders option works in both the Classic and Unified layouts of the Phone app, but the experience is smoother with the Unified layout. In this view, a new Reminders section appears at the top of the Recents list, making it easy to keep track of follow-ups.

To use the feature, open the Phone app and go to the Recents tab. Swipe left on any missed call. A new blue button labeled “Reminder” will appear. Tap this button, and a menu with time options will open. You can choose to be reminded in one hour, at night (9:00 p.m.), tomorrow, or at a custom time that fits your schedule. This feature only works in the Recents list. It is not available in the Favorites or Contacts tabs.

This update is designed for convenience. Many people miss calls throughout the day but forget to return them later. With this new tool, users no longer need to add a note or set a calendar alert. Everything can be done in two simple taps. It’s a smooth and user-friendly solution for a common problem. Apple’s focus on small quality-of-life changes shows in this feature. It may not sound exciting, but it helps users stay more organized and avoid missed communication.

While features like call screening and auto-hold sound impressive, the call reminder tool might have a bigger day-to-day impact. It addresses a simple issue—missed calls—and gives users a direct way to solve it. The option to choose custom times also adds flexibility, allowing reminders to fit into different routines.

This kind of feature is especially useful for users who keep their phones on silent or are often busy during the day. It makes the iPhone smarter without being more complicated. Apple has a long history of adding features that seem small at first but turn out to be very practical in daily use. The call reminder tool fits that pattern. It makes a regular task easier without changing the way people already use their phones.

As iOS 26 continues to roll out, more features like this are expected. These smaller changes reflect Apple’s ongoing effort to improve how people use their devices without adding extra steps. With the Phone app now offering smarter ways to handle calls, users can expect a smoother experience with every update.

Apple has not confirmed whether this feature will expand to other parts of the phone, like Messages or FaceTime, but the clear focus is on making call management faster and easier. As the final version of iOS 26 approaches, users can look forward to other improvements that continue this trend.

Overall, this new feature in the iOS 26 Phone app helps users return calls with less effort and more control. It’s a small change, but it could make a big difference for anyone who relies on their phone throughout the day.
