Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have announced the end of their 11-year marriage. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum confirmed the split in a statement to People on November 21. “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” she said. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
Burruss, 49, shares two children with Tucker, 52: nine-year-old son Ace and five-year-old daughter Blaze. She added that she is “stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth.” She also asked for privacy and understanding from fans as they navigate the transition.
The couple first met while filming the fourth season of RHOA in 2011 and married in April 2014. Their marriage blended their families, including Kandi’s daughter Riley, 23, from her previous marriage to Russell Spencer, and Todd’s daughter Kaela, 29, from his prior relationship with Keema Parker. During their time on reality television, they also starred in the 2022 Bravo spinoff series Kandi & The Gang, giving fans a closer look at their personal and professional lives.
Fans had speculated about potential issues in the marriage after noticing Kandi dropped “Tucker” from her Instagram name and Todd was absent from BravoCon 2025. Despite the split, Burruss acknowledged Todd during her acceptance speech for the Wifetime Achievement Award. “To Todd,” she said, “thank you for surviving the blogs, the shade, the rumors, the lies, the truth, the almost fights, the actual fights, the reunions. You earned this award, too.” Todd responded on Instagram, praising Kandi for handling the recognition “with class and dignity” and calling her “the GOAT.”
Kandi and Todd’s split comes amid a year of other high-profile celebrity breakups. Mercedes “MJ” Javid filed for divorce from Tommy Feight after seven years, seeking sole custody of their son. Sophia Culpo and Michael Stevens ended their two-year relationship, while Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli announced their separation after 27 years of marriage. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban filed for divorce after 20 years together, although the split was reportedly one-sided. Internet star Benito Skinner and Terrence O’Connor confirmed their breakup after nine years, and Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci announced their separation after two years together publicly. Other celebrity splits this year include Shailene Woodley and Lucas Bravo, Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini, Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera, Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers, Blac Chyna and Derrick Milano, Gigi Gorgeous and Nats Getty, and Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.
Despite the challenges ahead, Kandi Burruss is focusing on her family, her work, and her personal growth while maintaining a respectful co-parenting relationship with Todd Tucker. She emphasized that her priority is creating a stable, loving environment for Ace and Blaze as both parents move forward separately.
