Millie Bobby Brown, saying farewell to Stranger Things, snapped back at a red carpet photographer who told her to smile during the London premiere of the show’s fifth and final season at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. “Smile? You smile!” Brown replied in a viral clip before walking down the carpet.
The actress, who first broke out on the Netflix series at age 12, has spoken openly about growing up under public scrutiny. In March, she criticized reporters for focusing on her looks, calling it “bullying” rather than journalism. “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices is disturbing,” she said, adding that she refuses to apologize for growing up on her own terms.
Brown stars as Eleven, the psychic-powered character who escaped Hawkins National Laboratory in Season 1 after being experimented on. Season 5, set in the fall of 1987, follows Hawkins as it grapples with the aftermath of the Rifts. The group must find and stop Vecna while the town is under military quarantine, forcing Eleven into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, a dark threat looms, and the full cast must unite for a final battle.
The final season will premiere on Netflix in three parts: Volume 1 on November 26 with four episodes, Volume 2 on Christmas with three episodes, and the series finale on New Year’s Eve. All episodes will release at 5 PM PT.
