A major military aid route to Ukraine has resumed normal operations through Poland after a temporary halt due to a pause in U.S. supplies, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed on Tuesday.

Key Supply Hub in Poland Back to Full Operation

The Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport in southeast Poland, a crucial transit point handling around 90% of international military aid to Ukraine, is once again functioning at full capacity. Kosiniak-Kamysz addressed the issue during a press conference, stating that military aid shipments are now operating at “a different level” following last week’s disruption.

“Full access to intelligence information has also been restored, which we’re very pleased about,” he added.

U.S. Aid Suspension Impact

The disruption occurred in early March when U.S. President Donald Trump temporarily halted military and intelligence support for Ukraine after a tense exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. The pause in U.S. supplies led to concerns among Ukraine’s allies about the potential impact on the country’s defense against Russian aggression.

However, over the weekend, a virtual conference involving Ukraine’s key allies, including Poland, assessed the outcome of recent U.S.-Ukraine discussions in Saudi Arabia positively. Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Ukrainian officials had agreed to a 30-day ceasefire as part of the negotiations.

U.S.-Ukraine Talks in Saudi Arabia

The talks, held in Riyadh, were aimed at easing tensions and ensuring a steady supply of military support to Ukraine. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that the agreement marked a “step in the right direction.”

“All leaders saw the U.S.-Ukraine agreement as progress,” he said. “Today, the U.S. and Ukraine stand united, while the adversary is on the other side. Now, the ball is in Russia’s court.”

What This Means for Ukraine’s Defense

With military aid deliveries back on track, Ukraine can continue to bolster its defense capabilities. Experts suggest that the aid provided through Poland plays a crucial role in supplying advanced weaponry, ammunition, and other resources necessary to counter Russian forces.

Additionally, the restoration of intelligence-sharing between the U.S. and Ukraine is expected to enhance Kyiv’s ability to strategize and respond effectively to threats on the battlefield.

Poland’s Strategic Role in Supporting Ukraine

Poland has been one of Ukraine’s staunchest allies since the Russian invasion began in 2022. The country has provided significant military assistance, acted as a logistics hub, and facilitated the transfer of aid from NATO allies.

According to defense analysts, Poland’s geographic position makes it a critical partner in the Western alliance’s efforts to support Ukraine. The Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport serves as a lifeline, enabling rapid transportation of military supplies.

Global Reactions to the Resumption of Aid

The resumption of military aid has been welcomed by Ukraine and its allies. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg recently reaffirmed the alliance’s commitment to supporting Kyiv, emphasizing that military aid remains a priority.

Meanwhile, European leaders have urged for continued collaboration and increased security measures to prevent further disruptions in aid deliveries. Germany, in particular, has announced additional economic and defense investments to strengthen European security.

With military aid to Ukraine flowing again through Poland, the focus now shifts to how the ongoing conflict will evolve. The U.S.-Ukraine agreement and the recent ceasefire provide a glimmer of hope for diplomatic progress, but the situation remains volatile.
