Qatar has agreed to buy 160 airplanes from the United States. This deal was announced after a high-level meeting between US President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha.

According to a report by the BBC on Wednesday, May 14, both leaders signed several important agreements after their talks.

President Trump shared the news after the meeting. He said that Qatar Airways has made a huge order with Boeing. The airline will buy 160 planes, worth more than $200 billion. This is one of the largest aircraft orders in recent years.

Along with this deal, the two sides also discussed military cooperation. One of the agreements included a letter of “Offer and Acceptance” for the purchase of MQ-9B drones. These are high-tech unmanned aircraft used for defense purposes.

Both Trump and the Emir also agreed on a statement about future defense cooperation between the two countries. A joint declaration was signed to confirm this.

President Trump praised the Qatari leader during the event. He called Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani a great man. Trump said, “We like each other. I thank him for his friendship.”

The deal comes at a time when world politics is full of stress. Despite this, both countries are working to grow their ties. The aircraft order and the drone deal show strong trust between them.

This new partnership also gives a boost to Boeing. The US company has faced many challenges in recent years. This order from Qatar will support jobs and improve business for the airplane maker.

Experts say the deal is not just about planes. It also shows deeper trust between the US and Qatar. The two countries have worked closely on many global issues. This includes fighting terrorism and keeping peace in the Middle East.

Qatar is a small but rich country in the Gulf. It is one of the top buyers of US military equipment. Over the years, it has built a strong air fleet. The new planes will help Qatar expand its national airline and its defense system.

The MQ-9B drone mentioned in the deal is also a big step. These drones are used for long missions. They can stay in the air for many hours and collect key data. This will help Qatar improve its defense abilities.

The joint declaration signed by the two leaders shows they are serious about their future ties. It covers trade, defense, and joint efforts in global peace.

The US and Qatar have a long history of cooperation. The US has a major airbase in Qatar. Both countries often train together and share intelligence.

This new agreement comes as Qatar looks to grow its global role. The country has played a key part in peace talks in the region. It has also hosted many world events, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

By signing this deal, both sides are sending a message. They are showing that their friendship is growing stronger. The agreement helps both sides—Qatar will get advanced planes, and the US will benefit from the business.

In short, the deal between the US and Qatar is not just about money. It is also about trust, defense, and future goals. Both leaders have made it clear—they want to keep working together.

This news has drawn attention around the world. It shows how important the US-Qatar relationship has become in recent years. As tensions rise in other areas, this deal brings a moment of unity and strong ties.
