Taylor Swift is reportedly feeling “violated” after private text messages with her longtime friend Blake Lively were made public in Lively’s ongoing lawsuit against actor and director Justin Baldoni. While Swift is not directly involved in the legal dispute, the exposure of her messages has left her feeling exposed and uneasy.
“It’s honestly been really hard for Taylor,” a source told Us Weekly on Monday, Jan. 26. “Having her texts out there made her feel exposed and kind of violated, like something private suddenly wasn’t hers anymore. That doesn’t sit well with her.”
Swift’s connection to the case stems from her song “My Tears Ricochet,” which is featured in the film It Ends With Us, starring Lively and directed by Baldoni. Lively has sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and running a “smear campaign” against her. Baldoni countersued for $400 million, though that claim was later dismissed.
Travis Kelce, Swift’s boyfriend of two years who proposed in August 2025, has been supporting her through the situation. Sources say he has privately advised Swift, noticing that Lively’s behavior toward her friend was unfair. “He was very much in her ear, as he believed Blake’s behaviour toward Taylor felt off, and she should take a closer look at the dynamic, saying it wasn’t how a real friend should act,” the insider explained.
Kelce’s support reportedly gave Swift the confidence to address the situation directly. “When Blake later raised concerns that their friendship had changed, Taylor didn’t hold back. She was encouraged by Travis to address the situation head-on and be honest about how she was feeling,” the source said. “He didn’t dislike Blake, but he didn’t think it was fair on Taylor, who had been nothing but a present and loyal friend.”
Swift has not made any public comments regarding the lawsuit or the text release. Lively and Baldoni’s trial is currently scheduled for March 2026, leaving Swift in a delicate position as private communications continue to be scrutinized.
This development highlights the challenges celebrities face in maintaining privacy, even among close friends, when legal battles unfold publicly and involve their personal connections.
