The third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty continues to unfold with drama around a wedding that seems far from certain. In episode 4, tensions rise as Jeremiah and Belly navigate their changing lives apart, while trying to keep the wedding plans alive.
Jeremiah, played by Gavin Casalegno, has taken a new internship through his father’s contacts. Meanwhile, Belly, portrayed by Lola Tung, is working as a waitress to support herself. Both face challenges convincing their loved ones that the wedding will happen.
A key moment arrives when Jeremiah asks Steven to be his “co-best man” alongside Conrad. This gesture helps sway some support for the upcoming ceremony.
Belly’s birthday brings a mix of joy and sadness. She goes dress shopping with friends Taylor and Lucinda, since her mother chooses not to join. Despite finding a dress she loves, Belly still feels upset and uncertain.
Jeremiah visits Belly’s home with birthday gifts including cake, flowers for her mother Laurel, and a key to the Cousins’ beach house. He promises that the beach house will officially belong to Belly in six weeks. However, Laurel remains skeptical about the wedding plans.
Later, Jeremiah and Belly head to the beach house, only to find Conrad there. Conrad, played by Chris Briney, has been staying at the beach house for weeks after losing his clinic job. Though he initially does not support Jeremiah and Belly’s wedding, he changes his mind after hearing Belly cry and decides to stay and support her, despite having a job offer in California.
Taylor also makes sacrifices, quitting her internship to help her mother during this difficult time.
