Iran has called its nuclear talks with the United States meaningless following Israel’s largest military strike targeting Iranian-backed forces. Tehran accused Washington of supporting the attack, which undermines ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry, said the US cannot claim to negotiate while allowing Israel to carry out military actions against Iranian territory. He added that Israel’s attack would not have happened without US permission.
The nuclear talks aim to restore the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which limits Iran Nuclear Program in exchange for lifting sanctions. However, tensions have persisted between Tehran and Washington, and the recent Israeli strike has further complicated the situation.
Israel views Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional influence as a serious threat. The attack targeted sites linked to Iranian-backed groups in Syria and Iraq and was described by Israel as its largest strike against these forces.
