The Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the European Union (EU) will convene a Ministerial Partnership Dialogue on March 15, 2025, in Harare, Zimbabwe. Minister Sikorski will represent the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.

Ahead of the Ministerial Partnership Dialogue, a Senior Officials’ Dialogue will take place on March 14, 2025. This preparatory session will refine key discussion points and set the stage for productive ministerial deliberations.
Historical Context of SADC-EU Relations
The SADC-EU Political Dialogue dates back to 1994, when it was launched at a Ministerial Conference in Berlin, Germany. The framework for structured engagement was solidified in 2013 during a Ministerial Dialogue in Maputo, Mozambique, ensuring regular consultations through annual Senior Officials’ Meetings and biennial Ministerial Dialogues.
