On Saturday night, Iran launched over a hundred medium and long-range missiles across Israel in a major attack called the second phase of the “True Promise Three” operation. The conflict has escalated to new heights with Israeli warnings of further attacks on Iran. Israel’s president warned that Iran’s nuclear program poses a direct threat and vowed to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also thanked the United States for its unwavering support.
Reports suggest that Israel has attempted covert operations inside Iran’s military, including targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian officials condemned these actions, promising severe retaliation and condemning Israel’s attacks as illegal and terrorist acts supported by the United States. They called Israel’s actions violations of international law and warned of harsh consequences.
Due to the rising conflict, planned nuclear talks between the United States and Iran have been canceled. The violence has also sparked global protests. Hundreds of people in Chile have expressed support for Palestine and Iran, while Pakistan has announced cutting ties with Israel in protest.
Iran has threatened to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil trade route. This move could cause oil prices to rise worldwide, adding economic pressure to the already tense situation.
