Lenyn Sosa continued his strong hitting streak with a solo home run in Tuesday’s game against the Mariners. Despite the White Sox losing 8-3, Sosa’s performance stood out.
Sosa hit a solo home run in the first inning off Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo. This homer extended his hitting streak to eight games. Over this period, Sosa has gone 13-for-28 at the plate, hitting .464 with three home runs and seven RBIs.
This recent form has helped Sosa secure his spot in the White Sox lineup. Although he has not yet settled on a single defensive position, he has started to play more regularly at first base. This shift comes as Miguel Vargas is sidelined with an oblique injury.
So far this season, Sosa is batting .281 with a .747 OPS. He has hit 12 home runs and driven in 44 runs across 96 games. He has also scored 36 runs and stolen two bases.
