Two Ohio men were among three people fatally shot in central Florida over the weekend in what authorities called a “random, tragic act.”

Douglas Kraft, 68, of Columbus, and James Puchan, 68, of Galena, Ohio, were killed Jan. 17 near Kissimmee, along with Douglas Kraft’s brother, Robert Kraft, 70, of Holland, Michigan. Families described the deaths as senseless and devastating.

“These three wonderful men did not deserve this,” the families said in a joint statement. “Our families are left with an unexpected, unimaginable loss that cannot be put into words. We ask for privacy, prayers, and respect as we mourn and begin to process this tragedy.”

The men had been staying at an Airbnb while attending Kissimmee’s Mecum Car Show. Families said they were preparing to travel home after experiencing rental car trouble when an unknown individual, reportedly known to local law enforcement, approached and killed them.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire around noon on Jan. 17 in the Indian Point subdivision near Kissimmee. Deputies found all three men dead from gunshot wounds in front of a residence on Indian Point Circle.

Law enforcement quickly detained 29-year-old Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, who lived nearby. Deputies said they saw the suspect flee toward his home. A search of his residence uncovered two firearms, which investigators are working to confirm were used in the shooting.

Bojeh was booked into the Osceola County jail on three counts of murder and denied bond during his first court appearance. Investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Osceola County Sheriff Christopher Blackmon said authorities do not believe the community is at risk, as the suspect has been arrested in connection with the murders.

The deaths of Douglas Kraft, James Puchan, and Robert Kraft have left families and the community grieving a shocking and unexpected loss. Authorities continue their investigation to ensure justice is served and the full circumstances of the tragic event are understood.
