Country music’s biggest night returned to Nashville as the 59th Annual CMA Awards kicked off at Bridgestone Arena. Lainey Wilson made history as the first woman in over 30 years to host the ceremony solo. Wilson, last year’s CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, welcomed fans and stars with a mix of glamour and energy.
The red carpet at Music City Center saw an array of country stars showing off their best fashions. Mickey Guyton, Colbie Caillat, Megan Moroney, Mōriah, and Lara Spencer were among the first arrivals. Fans and media alike admired their stylish country-inspired looks. Other attendees included LeAnn Rimes, Kelsea Ballerini, Asher Angel, Mackenzie Porter, Ne-Yo, Cody Johnson, Tyler Hubbard, Lauren Alaina, The War and Treaty, Lauren Daigle, Grace Van Patten, Steve Martin, Lady A, Dan + Shay, Luke Combs, Little Big Town, and BigXThaPlug. The event celebrated both music and fashion, with stars embracing bold colors, sparkles, and elegant designs.
This year, female artists dominated the nominations. Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, and Lainey Wilson each earned six nods. Zach Top followed with five nominations, while Riley Green and Cody Johnson received four each. Notable artists like Kristian Bush, Carson Chamberlain, Luke Combs, Charlie Handsome, Chris Stapleton, and Morgan Wallen earned three nominations each. The top honor, CMA Entertainer of the Year, included Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and last year’s winner Morgan Wallen.
Performances were a major highlight. Kelsea Ballerini premiered her new single, “I Sit in Parks.” Kenny Chesney celebrated his 2025 induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame with a special performance. Fans also enjoyed acts from BigXThaPlug, Luke Combs, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Shaboozey, Zach Top, Riley Green, The Red Clay Strays, Tucker Wetmore, Lainey Wilson, and Stephen Wilson Jr. The ceremony blended new hits with classic country sounds, honoring both established and rising artists.
Country music legend Vince Gill received the 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. Gill was celebrated with a special tribute performance before accepting the prestigious honor.
