The Kansas City Chiefs survived a tense showdown against the Indianapolis Colts, overcoming a late 20-9 deficit to claim a 23-20 overtime win. With less than 10 minutes left in regulation, Kansas City rallied, and in OT, the defense forced a punt. Patrick Mahomes led a clutch drive, allowing Harrison Butker to seal the victory with a field goal. The win improves the Chiefs’ record to 6-5, keeping playoff hopes alive despite a challenging season.

Mahomes was at the center of the comeback, passing for 352 yards and adding 30 rushing yards. He was supported by Rashee Rice, who totaled 141 receiving yards, and a defense that neutralized Jonathan Taylor and clamped down on Daniel Jones in the second half. Sunday’s performance strengthens Mahomes’ case for MVP consideration if Kansas City makes the postseason.

The Colts, meanwhile, were on the verge of a major statement win but fell short, highlighting the Chiefs’ resilience in close contests. Kansas City has already struggled in one-score games this season, but Sunday’s victory showed they can still perform under pressure.

Other NFL Week 12 winners included Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons. Cousins, starting in place of injured Michael Penix Jr., led the Falcons to a 24-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints, throwing for 199 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Cousins will remain the starter for the rest of the season, giving him an opportunity to solidify his role moving forward.

Trevor Lawrence also earned a spot among the winners. The Jacksonville Jaguars edged the Arizona Cardinals 27-24 in overtime. Despite three interceptions, Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, including a late 9-yard strike to Parker Washington that gave the Jaguars the lead before overtime. This win tightens the AFC South race, with the Jaguars at 7-4, just behind the 8-3 Colts.

Jameis Winston delivered a thrilling performance for the Detroit Lions, throwing for 366 yards and contributing to multiple big plays, including a receiving touchdown. The Lions narrowly defeated the New York Giants 34-27 in overtime, thanks to Jahmyr Gibbs’ 69-yard touchdown run. Despite the loss, Winston’s play kept the game competitive and entertaining.

Rising star Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his record-breaking pace, posting 167 yards and two touchdowns as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Tennessee Titans 30-24. He now has 1,313 yards through 11 games and is on pace to surpass Calvin Johnson’s single-season receiving record, potentially reaching 2,029 yards.

The Chicago Bears also excelled in close games, narrowly defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-28. Caleb Williams threw three touchdown passes, while the defense made key stops late, giving the Bears an 8-3 record and first place in the NFC North.

NFL Week 12 losers included the Philadelphia Eagles, who squandered a 21-0 lead and fell 24-21 to the Dallas Cowboys. Offensive struggles, including turnovers and missed opportunities, cost the Eagles a winnable game and may impact their top seed chances in the NFC.

The Las Vegas Raiders also struggled, losing 24-10 to the Cleveland Browns in Shedeur Sanders’ first NFL action. The team’s poor offensive line and inconsistent play highlight ongoing concerns for head coach Pete Carroll’s future in Las Vegas.

The Minnesota Vikings suffered a 23-6 defeat to the Green Bay Packers, with rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy struggling under pressure. McCarthy completed just 12-of-19 passes for 87 yards and two interceptions, raising questions about his viability as a starting quarterback.

Finally, the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense continued to struggle against tight ends, allowing Hunter Henry of the Patriots to record seven catches for 115 yards and a touchdown in New England’s 26-20 victory. The loss drops the Bengals to 3-8, and discussions about Joe Burrow’s return may come into play.

Week 12 of the NFL season highlighted the drama of close games, emerging stars, and struggling teams, leaving fans eager for the action and playoff implications in the coming weeks.
