Iran’s special forces have launched nationwide operations to suppress ongoing protests and control unrest, authorities said, amid claims of foreign involvement in anti-government movements. The operations are targeting armed groups accused of inciting violence under the cover of public demonstrations.

Security forces, including Saberine and Basij units, have conducted raids across multiple cities. Officials reported that large caches of weapons, ammunition, and confidential documents were seized during the operations. Several people have been detained, with authorities claiming evidence links them to attempts to destabilize the government. The identities of the special forces personnel involved have been kept confidential for security reasons.

State media, including Press TV, broadcast footage of the raids, showing authorities confiscating firearms and explosives. Officials said these weapons were being used in ongoing anti-government activities, and some of those arrested are suspected of collaborating with foreign intelligence agencies, including Israel’s Mossad. Tehran has accused foreign powers of fueling the unrest to weaken the country’s internal stability.

In the central Iranian city of Yasuj, a sudden operation by special forces uncovered significant stockpiles of arms and documents believed to be connected to protest organizers. Security authorities claim the seized materials were intended to escalate violence against government institutions. The operation led to multiple arrests, with officials stating that clear evidence was found linking the detainees to planning and spreading unrest.

Over the past several days, Iran’s Anti-Terrorist Units and special forces have intensified raids in cities across the country. Security footage shows confrontations between armed protesters and state forces, with both sides reportedly exchanging gunfire in some instances. Authorities are also pursuing individuals suspected of stockpiling weapons and organizing violent activities during the protests.

International organizations estimate that over 10,000 people have been detained so far in connection with the nationwide protests. However, Iranian security forces maintain that arrests are based on verified intelligence and specific evidence rather than mass sweeps. Officials emphasized that all operations are being conducted in accordance with national security requirements.

Tehran has repeatedly claimed that foreign intelligence agencies, particularly Israel’s Mossad, are actively involved in inciting anti-government protests. Authorities allege that weapons and guidance for violent acts are being distributed to protesters through foreign channels. These claims are part of broader accusations that external powers are attempting to destabilize the country.

The crackdown comes amid widespread unrest triggered initially by economic pressures and social grievances. Protesters have clashed with security forces in multiple cities, and several incidents of gunfire targeting police and government installations have been reported. Special forces continue to track armed groups and individuals suspected of carrying out violent activities.

State media and officials stress that the operations are designed to restore law and order while targeting armed and foreign-backed elements within the protest movement. Officials say that careful intelligence-led operations are crucial to minimizing civilian casualties while addressing the threat posed by violent actors.

Analysts note that Iran’s security response reflects the government’s emphasis on maintaining internal stability amid escalating unrest. The deployment of special forces and anti-terror units indicates Tehran’s determination to prevent protests from escalating into widespread violence or organized attacks on government institutions.

Authorities continue to urge citizens to avoid participating in violent actions and to comply with law enforcement directives. Meanwhile, the government warns that any collaboration with foreign-backed elements will be met with strict legal action, including potential criminal charges for endangering national security.

As Iran navigates this period of unrest, the operations by special forces underscore the state’s commitment to controlling protest-related violence and safeguarding critical infrastructure. Security forces remain on high alert, conducting raids, detaining suspects, and confiscating weapons to prevent further escalation of anti-government activities.
