Hanoi, Vietnam – The International Conference on AI and Semiconductor Technologies (AISC) 2025, organized by the National Innovation Centre (NIC) and Aitomatic from the US, is scheduled to take place from March 12 to 16 in Hanoi and Danang.

Under the theme “Innovating Futures: Bridging AI & Semiconductors Globally,” this prestigious event will gather top industry leaders to discuss groundbreaking developments at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor technologies. The conference aims to position Vietnam as a critical player in the global semiconductor supply chain and AI-driven advancements.

    Key Highlights of AISC 2025

AISC 2025 will include specialized sessions, policy forums, workshops, and exhibitions covering the latest trends in AI-integrated semiconductor production. One of the major sessions, “Vietnam Taking the Initiative in Developing the Semiconductor and AI Industries in the New Era,” will focus on national strategies to enhance technological growth. This high-level forum is organized with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, which, following its merger with the Ministry of Finance, will be overseen by the latter from March 1.

The conference will feature insights from over 1,000 global experts and leaders representing top companies such as Google DeepMind, IBM, Intel, TSMC, Samsung, MediaTek, Tokyo Electron, Panasonic, Qorvo, and Marvell. It will serve as a key networking platform for global semiconductor firms and AI researchers.

Vietnam’s Commitment to AI and Semiconductor Growth

At a press conference held on March 24 at NIC headquarters in Hanoi’s Cau Giay district, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Duc Tam emphasized Vietnam’s growing role in AI and semiconductor development. He highlighted Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which prioritizes scientific and technological advancements as crucial to the country’s socioeconomic transformation.

“Vietnam is at a crucial juncture, preparing to enter a new era of digital and green transformation,” Tam stated. “With strong government support, we are accelerating innovation in AI and semiconductor industries to improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness.”

Industry Leaders and Innovation at AISC 2025

Christopher Nguyen, General Co-Chair of AISC 2025, emphasized the significance of this event, stating, “AISC 2025 marks a pivotal moment in AI and semiconductor evolution. We are bringing together the brightest minds to showcase real breakthroughs.”

NIC Director Vu Quoc Huy echoed this sentiment, highlighting how the conference will showcase Vietnam’s successful collaborations with global tech leaders such as Nvidia. “This event signals Vietnam’s openness and readiness to welcome semiconductor and AI pioneers,” he added.

Vietnam’s Growing Role in the Global Semiconductor Market

The global semiconductor industry reached $500 billion by the end of 2024, according to Bloomberg Intelligence, with AI playing a crucial role in market expansion. A major breakthrough came with DeepSeek-R1, an open-source AI model that delivers top-tier performance with one-third the computing power of leading models. This innovation has fueled a $1.2 trillion market transformation, driving urgent demand for efficient AI computing solutions.

A McKinsey report further emphasizes that AI-driven chip design is attracting record investments, reshaping the industry, and creating new opportunities for emerging tech hubs like Vietnam.

To capitalize on this trend, Vietnam is implementing policies to attract investment, support workforce development, and strengthen its semiconductor ecosystem. The government is providing scholarships and tuition waivers for semiconductor students to cultivate a highly skilled workforce and ensure sustainable industry growth.

    Vietnam’s AI and Semiconductor Future

At a recent conference on Science, Technology, Innovation, and High-Quality Human Resources Development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underscored Vietnam’s commitment to international collaboration and tech integration. NIC is playing a key role in attracting global talent and technology, reinforcing Vietnam’s position in the semiconductor and AI sectors.

However, the country faces challenges in sustainable development and global competitiveness. To address these, the government is making major infrastructure investments, fostering R&D collaborations, and providing incentives for semiconductor manufacturing.

Global Launch of SemiKong: A Breakthrough in Semiconductor AI

AISC 2025 will also feature the world premiere of SemiKong, an open-source semiconductor foundation model developed by Aitomatic, FPT Software, and international semiconductor experts. This pioneering AI technology will significantly enhance chip manufacturing processes and position Vietnam as a leader in AI-driven semiconductor innovation.

    Vietnam Joins the AI Alliance

Another highlight of AISC 2025 is the announcement of Vietnamese organizations joining the AI Alliance—a global consortium founded by IBM, Aitomatic, Meta, AMD, and Intel, along with leading academic institutions. With over 140 members from 25 countries, the AI Alliance promotes open innovation in AI development, further strengthening Vietnam’s standing in the global tech ecosystem.

AISC 2025 is poised to be a landmark event in the AI and semiconductor industries, bringing together global experts to explore Vietnam’s growing role in the high-tech sector. With strong government backing, strategic collaborations, and major technological innovations, Vietnam is positioning itself as a key player in the future of AI and semiconductor technology.
