Pakistan has destroyed India’s powerful S-400 air defence system. This action was part of Pakistan’s new military mission, called Operation Bunyan Marsus. The attack hit India’s S-400 site in Adampur, located in the Jalandhar

S-400 System Destroyed by Hypersonic Missile

Security sources say the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) used advanced hypersonic missiles. One JF-17 Thunder jet launched the missile that destroyed the S-400 unit. The S-400 system, made in Russia, is one of India’s most valued military tools. It costs around $1.5 billion.

A Key Asset in India’s Defence

India had bought five S-400 units from Russia in 2018 for $5.43 billion. The S-400 is made to shoot down planes, missiles, and drones. It can hit targets up to 400 kilometers away and track threats from 600 kilometers.

The S-400 system has three main parts. These are missile launchers, a radar, and a command center. The radar can follow more than 100 targets at once. It can shoot down 36 targets at the same time using 72 missiles.

India has set up three S-400 units so far. One is in Punjab, another in Sikkim, and the third near Rajasthan and Gujarat. Two more units are coming by 2026. The S-400 has helped India defend itself many times. It even stopped some of Pakistan’s recent missile attacks.

This system moves fast and can be set up quickly. It can travel up to 60 km/h and start working within minutes. India trained its soldiers well to use this system.

Despite warnings from the US, India bought the S-400 to protect itself from threats from Pakistan and China. The US had said India could face sanctions for this deal.

    Pakistan’s Targeted Counter-Attack

Now, Pakistan says the S-400 unit in Adampur is destroyed. It is seen as a big loss for India.

This attack is part of Pakistan’s wider mission against India. Pakistan has named it Operation Bunyan-um-Marsus. In this mission, Pakistan has fired many missiles at key Indian military targets.

Reports say Pakistan used the Fatah 2 missile in these attacks. The missiles hit airfields in Udhampur, Suratgarh, Pathankot, and Adampur. These were the places from where India had earlier attacked Pakistan.

Sources also say Pakistan hit a storage site for India’s BrahMos missiles in Beas. They also claim to have hit another BrahMos site in Nagrota, in India-held Kashmir.

    Indian Officer Killed in Rajouri

Indian news reports say a top Indian officer died in Rajouri during the strikes. Pakistan also destroyed Indian artillery at Dehrangyari.

Pakistan has claimed to hit 26 places in India. Drones from Pakistan have reached New Delhi and Ferozepur. One drone even struck a site in Ferozepur.

This is the latest stage in the conflict between the two countries. Both sides have traded missile and drone strikes for several days. The damage is high on both sides.

The strike on India’s S-400 system is a key event. It shows a serious turn in the conflict. Both countries are now locked in high-stakes attacks. The coming days may bring even more action as tensions rise.
