Many Muslim countries have now shared the date for Eid al-Adha. The date is not the same everywhere. It depends on when the moon is seen. Some places will celebrate on June 6. Others will mark the day on June 7. Here is an easy guide to who is celebrating and when.

Malaysia will start the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah on May 29. That is a Thursday. The moon was not seen, so the month starts later. As a result, Malaysia will celebrate Eid al-Adha on Saturday, June 7.

In Brunei, the same thing happened. The moon was not seen. Their current Islamic month will end on May 28. That means Brunei will also celebrate Eid on Saturday, June 7.

Indonesia had a different result. There, the moon was seen. So the month starts earlier. Eid al-Adha in Indonesia will take place on Friday, June 6.

Saudi Arabia also saw the moon. They said the month of Dhul-Hijjah has started. Their Eid will be on Friday, June 6. The day before Eid is called the Day of Arafat. That will be on Thursday, June 5. This news came from the moon-sighting center in Tumair, Saudi Arabia.

Oman gave their own report. The country said that Dhul-Hijjah will begin on May 28. That means Eid will be on Friday, June 6 in Oman too.

So, to sum up, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Oman will have Eid on June 6. Malaysia and Brunei will have it one day later, on June 7.

Eid al-Adha is one of the most important holidays for Muslims. It is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. It marks the story of Prophet Ibrahim. He was ready to offer his son to God. But God gave him a ram to sacrifice instead. To honor this, Muslims offer animals like goats, cows, or sheep. They then share the meat. It is given to family, friends, and people in need.

This special day comes during the month of Dhul-Hijjah. It is the last month in the Islamic year. During this time, many Muslims travel to Mecca. This journey is called Hajj. It is a big part of the Islamic faith. Only those who are able to go must take part in Hajj. For many, it is a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The date for Eid is based on the moon. The Islamic calendar follows the moon, not the sun. That is why dates change each year. Also, the moon may be seen in one place and not in another. That causes different countries to start the month on different days. So Eid can be on one day in one country and a different day in another.

Eid al-Adha is a day of joy. It is a time for prayer, family, and giving. People dress in clean clothes. They go to the mosque for a special prayer. Then, many join in the act of sacrifice. Food is cooked and shared. Many people also give money and gifts to the poor.

As we get closer to the date, Muslims around the world are getting ready. No matter the day, the spirit of Eid stays the same. It is a time of love, thanks, and peace.

This year, with Eid falling on either June 6 or 7, Muslims will once again come together to celebrate their faith and kindness.
