Tensions between Iran and Israel have surged, raising fears of a third world war. The global community is split, with countries taking sides for or against both nations. The Middle East is gripped by deep fear and uncertainty.
On Saturday night, Iran launched over a hundred medium and long-range missiles across Israel in a major attack called the second phase of the “True Promise Three” operation. These missiles flew over Jordan, Iraq, and Syria before striking cities including Jerusalem, Haifa, and Kiryat. Several missiles hit buildings and vehicles in the cities of Bat Yam and Rehovot, causing significant destruction.
Israel’s fuel center in Haifa was badly damaged, and at least ten Israelis were killed during the missile strikes. One missile even bypassed Israel’s Iron Dome defense system and hit the Israeli defense headquarters in Tel Aviv.
In response, Israel launched counterattacks on several cities in Iran, including Tehran and Bandar Abbas. Israeli strikes damaged a fuel depot in Shaharan and caused casualties. Iran’s military claims that many incoming missiles were destroyed mid-air by its powerful air defense systems.
The conflict has escalated to new heights with Israeli warnings of further attacks on Iran. Israel’s president warned that Iran’s nuclear program poses a direct threat and vowed to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also thanked the United States for its unwavering support.
Reports suggest that Israel has attempted covert operations inside Iran’s military, including targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian officials condemned these actions, promising severe retaliation and condemning Israel’s attacks as illegal and terrorist acts supported by the United States. They called Israel’s actions violations of international law and warned of harsh consequences.
Due to the rising conflict, planned nuclear talks between the United States and Iran have been canceled. The violence has also sparked global protests. Hundreds of people in Chile have expressed support for Palestine and Iran, while Pakistan has announced cutting ties with Israel in protest.
Iran has threatened to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil trade route. This move could cause oil prices to rise worldwide, adding economic pressure to the already tense situation.
The ongoing clashes in the Middle East, including conflicts in Yemen and Palestine, now risk spreading into a wider war. With tensions increasing and global powers divided, the situation remains volatile and unpredictable.
