Japan and the Philippines are set to deepen their defense cooperation in response to rising security challenges in the region, Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani said on Monday. Speaking ahead of a bilateral meeting in Manila, Nakatani emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the two nations to uphold peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
Stronger Ties Amid Security Concerns
The meeting between Nakatani and Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro comes as both nations express concerns over China’s increasing assertiveness in regional waters.
