Aero India 2025 has started in Bengaluru, bringing excitement to aviation fans worldwide. For the first time, Russia’s Su-57 and the US’s F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter jets are appearing together at the air show. These jets are part of the Daily Aerial Display and will perform for all four days of the event.

The 15th edition of Aero India kicked off on Monday, February 10, at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru. The show featured amazing performances by the Indian Air Force jets, which left the audience in awe with their daring mid-air stunts.

Su-57 and F-35 Stealth Jets in the Sky

Aviation fans were eager to see the Su-57 and F-35 jets fly side by side. The Su-57 is Russia’s latest fifth-generation fighter jet, known for its stealth, speed, and advanced features. The F-35 Lightning II is the US’s top fighter jet, also designed with stealth technology and used for multiple roles.

During the air show, the Su-57 performed impressive aerobatic stunts. The jet took off from Yelahanka base and showed off its skills in the sky. A video of its takeoff quickly became popular on social media, thrilling viewers around the world.

The F-35 also showed its impressive capabilities during the display. It is well-known for its stealth and versatility. The two jets, one from Russia and one from the US, stood side by side in a powerful moment. A picture of the jets on the ground, with their crews taking photos, went viral. This unique image symbolizes the competition between the two countries in modern aviation.

The Daily Aerial Display also included the American B-1B Lancer bomber, adding even more excitement to the show.

HAL Unveils the New Yashas Aircraft

In addition to the Su-57 and F-35, Aero India 2025 also saw the reveal of the new Yashas aircraft. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) announced that the HJT-36 jet trainer has been upgraded and renamed ‘Yashas.’ The aircraft has been redesigned with better radar systems and a new cockpit.

HAL’s Chairman, DK Sunil, shared details about the new features. The Yashas now has a fully digital cockpit that is voice-enabled. The aircraft also fixes issues from earlier models, like its spin characteristics. These improvements make the Yashas a powerful jet trainer for the Indian Air Force.

The HJT-36 started development in 2000. After some redesigns and tests, it has become a much stronger and more reliable aircraft. Sunil added that the name ‘Yashas’ was chosen by HAL engineers through a competition, symbolizing the aircraft’s fresh new start.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Aero India

Aero India 2025 has proven to be an exciting event, with the Su-57 and F-35 stealing the show. These two advanced jets provided a rare opportunity for fans to see them perform together.

More thrilling displays are expected as the air show continues. The event is important not only for showcasing advanced fighter jets but also for strengthening international cooperation in aviation.

Aero India is a key event for the global defense industry, offering a stage for countries to show off their latest advancements in aviation technology.
