Türkiye has condemned Israel for seizing a Gaza-bound aid boat on Monday. The vessel, named Madleen, was trying to break the naval blockade around Gaza. It carried 12 people, including Turkish citizens and Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. The Turkish government said Israel’s action violated international law and posed a threat to safety at sea.
The Israeli navy stopped the boat as it neared Gaza’s coast. The yacht is registered in the United Kingdom and was part of a mission by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition.
