Israel has carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday that they destroyed rocket launchers and weapon storage sites. These strikes were part of a response to attacks coming from Lebanese territory.

The IDF said Hezbollah was operating from those bases to prepare and launch attacks on Israel. According to them, these military actions clearly broke a deal that exists between Israel and Lebanon. The deal was meant to prevent such hostile activities along the shared border.

The IDF’s official statement mentioned that their air force targeted several military locations. These sites included areas believed to store weapons and rockets. The Israeli military also claimed that these places were being used to plan attacks.

They stressed that the actions by Hezbollah were not only aggressive but also a serious violation of the agreement that aims to keep peace along the border.

Lebanese authorities confirmed that several areas in the south of the country were hit and damaged by the Israeli airstrikes. Local communities were affected, and the damage to buildings and property is currently being assessed.

However, Hezbollah has not yet commented on the Israeli attacks. The group has remained silent since the strikes took place. It is still unclear whether they plan to respond.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have been rising for weeks. Small-scale attacks and cross-border fire have increased in recent days. Each side blames the other for starting the clashes. The latest airstrikes mark a serious escalation of the situation.

International observers are concerned that the conflict could grow larger if no diplomatic steps are taken. The risk of further fighting remains high unless both sides agree to reduce their military actions.

Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, is known to have strong ties with Iran. Israel sees the group as a serious threat and often responds to any activity near its northern border. Meanwhile, Lebanon has warned that more attacks could bring wider conflict to the region.

Security experts say this recent move by Israel shows how fragile the ceasefire deal has become. Although the agreement was not a formal treaty, both countries had kept to it for years to avoid war.

This incident adds to the ongoing instability in the Middle East. Neighboring countries are also watching the situation closely. Many fear that a new round of fighting could lead to broader regional unrest.

The Israeli military has said that they will continue to act if Hezbollah keeps using the border areas to stage attacks. They warned that any threat from Lebanon will be answered strongly.

As of now, no new talks have been announced between the two sides. Without fresh diplomatic efforts, the risk of more violence remains. The situation is being monitored by global peace groups and regional allies.

For now, the people living in the border regions of both Israel and Lebanon are left to deal with fear and uncertainty. The latest strike is a reminder of how quickly calm can turn into conflict in this tense part of the world.
