President Donald Trump has launched a new $175 Billion defense project to protect the United States from major attacks by rival nations like China and Russia. The project is named “Golden Dome” and will cost $175 billion. It is one of the most advanced and expensive defense plans in U.S. history.

According to a report by Reuters on Tuesday, Donald Trump announced the project during a press conference at the White House.

The U.S. president said the goal of the Golden Dome is to build a space-based defense system. It will use satellites to detect, track, and stop missile threats before they reach American soil. Trump added that Canada has already shown interest in joining the project.

To lead this mission, Trump has appointed General Michael Gateline from the U.S. Space Force. He will serve as the chief program manager for the $175 billion system.

“Golden Dome will protect our homeland,” Trump said from the Oval Office. “It’s time to take bold steps to keep our nation safe.”

The plan is part of a wider effort to prepare for future threats. Both China and Russia have been growing their military power. Experts believe they may develop faster and stronger weapons in the coming years. Trump said this project will keep the U.S. ahead of those threats.

Trump first ordered work to begin on the project back in January. Since then, scientists and defense experts have been working on the design.

The Golden Dome will focus on creating a satellite network in space. These satellites will work together to spot any missiles launched toward the U.S. If needed, the system will try to destroy those missiles before they can cause harm.

Analysts say the idea is similar to the “missile shield” concept discussed in past years. But this time, the plan uses more advanced space technology.

General Gateline said the project will bring new jobs and boost innovation in the space and defense sectors. He also stated that the team will work hard to make the system both strong and reliable.

“We are building a safety net in the sky,” Gateline said. “This is not just a dream. It’s the future of defense.”

However, many experts believe the project will face delays. They say the cost is high and Congress may not agree on the full budget. There may also be political debates about how the money should be spent.

Some defense analysts also raised concerns about how long the system will take to build. “This kind of project could take many years,” said one expert. “And it will need strong support from both the government and the public.”

Even so, Trump remains hopeful. He said the U.S. must be ready for any kind of attack. He also said that this is a smart investment in national security.

“This is about protecting the people,” Trump said. “We cannot wait for danger to come to our door.”

Supporters of the project say it could change the way countries think about war. With the Golden Dome in place, attacks from above could be stopped before they happen.

While many details of the plan are still being worked out, Trump’s announcement has already started a major conversation. The world will be watching to see how the U.S. builds this new line of defense — one that stretches far into space.
