Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quickly launched diplomatic efforts after Israel entered into conflict with Iran. Along with condemning Israel’s attacks on Tehran, he spoke with world leaders such as U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
After 12 days of conflict, the Crown Prince held another phone conversation with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the call, Pezeshkian said the United States and Israel were trying to create divisions among Muslim countries. He added that their efforts aimed to stop regional unity despite common goals like Palestinian rights, regional peace, and freedom from foreign interference.
Mohammed bin Salman responded that Saudi Arabia has always condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran. He stressed that Saudi Arabia has worked through extensive diplomatic channels with other nations to pressure Israel to stop attacks.
In the phone talk, the Saudi Crown Prince made a clear statement about a difficult decision. He said Arab countries will never allow their lands to be used as a launchpad for attacks on Iran by Israel. He also stated that the United States would not be allowed to use Saudi territory to attack Tehran under any conditions.
The leaders also discussed a recent U.S. strike in Qatar’s waters. Mohammed bin Salman acknowledged Saudi Arabia understands Iran’s retaliatory attacks against U.S. strikes.
