Benjamin Sesko is quickly becoming one of the most exciting young strikers in European football. At just 22 years old, the Slovenian forward has already made a name for himself with strong performances in both domestic and international competitions. Standing at 1.95 meters, Sesko combines height, power, and speed in a way that makes him a threat to any defense.

Born on May 31, 2003, in the town of Radeče, Slovenia, Sesko began his football journey with local clubs NK Domžale and NK Krško. His talent was quickly recognized by scouts from Red Bull Salzburg, who signed him in 2019. He was initially loaned to FC Liefering, Salzburg’s feeder club, where he developed his skills and gained valuable match experience. His performances at Liefering showed his potential and helped him prepare for top-tier football.

Sesko broke into the Red Bull Salzburg first team during the 2021–22 season and did not take long to impress. In the 2022–23 Austrian Bundesliga season, he scored 11 goals and provided a strong physical presence in Salzburg’s attack. His ability to finish chances, win aerial duels, and make smart runs caught the attention of clubs across Europe.

In the summer of 2023, Sesko made a significant move to RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga. The transfer was part of Red Bull’s strategy of developing talent within their club network. Since joining Leipzig, Sesko has continued to grow, showing that he can compete in one of Europe’s top five leagues. He has adapted well to the faster pace and higher tactical demands of the Bundesliga and has become a regular feature in Leipzig’s attack.

Sesko’s playing style has drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland, another former Salzburg striker. Like Haaland, Sesko is a tall and powerful forward who can outrun defenders and score from almost any position. He is also known for his strong aerial ability, often converting headers from crosses and set pieces. While his primary strength is scoring goals, he also contributes with smart movement and positioning that creates space for his teammates.

Internationally, Sesko has become a key player for the Slovenian national team. Since making his debut in 2021, he has earned over 25 caps and scored more than 10 goals. He is now considered the leading striker for his country and is expected to play a central role in Slovenia’s future competitions.

Top European clubs are now watching Sesko closely. Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and AC Milan have all been linked with the striker. Reports suggest he has a release clause of around €65 million, making him a realistic target for elite teams looking to add a promising striker to their squad. His mix of physicality, technical skill, and tactical understanding makes him an ideal fit for modern football.

RB Leipzig is aware of the growing interest in Sesko and will be keen to hold on to him unless the release clause is triggered. The club has a strong record of developing young talent and selling at the right time, and Sesko could be the next big name to follow that path.

Although Sesko is still developing, he has already shown that he can perform at a high level. His size and strength make him dangerous in the box, while his speed and movement allow him to contribute to the build-up play. He is a natural goal-scorer who continues to refine his game with each season.

As the 2025 summer transfer window approaches, Sesko’s name is likely to be at the center of transfer talks. Clubs in need of a reliable and talented striker will view him as one of the top options available. Benjamin Sesko’s future looks bright, and his journey from Slovenia to Bundesliga star is just the beginning.
